APCCM 08
Two weeks ago I attended my second conference, this one the Asia-Pacific Conference on Conceptual Modelling (APCCM 08), part of ACSW 08, at the University of Wollongong, Sydney. Like my last conference, it went fairly well.

Once again I gave a presentation on our work, progress and our expected timeline. Feedback was generally positive, though some asked if our contribution can be quantifiably proven as a better model than existing work. This will be an important question to answer in both our thesis and upcoming papers. Our next iteration involves extending existing models to attempt to capture our requirements, and comparing the suitability of these extensions along with any model we create ourselves should be done to address this question.

I met some key researchers in the field, and my presentation itself went fairly well, despite being introduced as "my first real conference talk", lol.

My challenges for the next few weeks is to progress significantly through my confirmation report, as well as complete most of my literature review and do some research into some existing commercial tools.
