Clark must keep faith with the loyal

Helen Clark faces a stark choice: back the people who backed her, or strike some tawdry deal with to the so-called "centre" parties.

Who backed Helen? Overwhelmingly, working-class voters of the metropolitan centres. In South Auckland especially, Labour activists and their trade union comrades tirelessly enrolled voters and canvassed their support. On election day, in pouring rain, they fanned out across the sprawling state house suburbs, knocking on doors and ferrying voters to the polling booths.

It was here, far from the leafy redoubts of Dr Brash's middle-class "mainstream", that the election was won for Labour. In spite of the fact that their wages have barely kept pace with inflation during the past six years. In spite of the fact that their unions are leg-ironed by one of the most restrictive industrial relations regimes in the Western world. And in spite of the fact that Labour's proposed free-trade agreement with China is likely to wipe out 300,000 manufacturing jobs – their jobs – Kiwi workers sta...

Preguntas sobre mí

10 years ago: Erm… I was 12… Listening to Boyz II Men and Ace of Base… I’m sure it’s what all normal 12 year olds were doing in 1995 :P

5 years ago: Was still in high school… what fun.

1 year ago: Um. I got drunk off beer for the first time :P

Yesterday: I really don't want to bore you with the details. Let's just say the most interesting thing was meeting Mr Jevon's stupid ass cat on my walk home and saving it from the realms of kitty hell ;D

Tomorrow: I'll know tomorrow.

5 snacks I enjoy: I’m the same as and like fruit… Grapes, nectarines, apricots, apples, oranges.

5 bands/artists that I know the lyrics to most of their songs:
Incubus
Green Day
Clay Aiken
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Dashboard Confessional

5 things I would do with a $100,000,000: Probably buy each of my 5 siblings a house… that’s 5 things :P

5 locations I would like to run away to: First and foremost, I’d have to say the south island of my home country because I’d have to see that before going overseas. Otherwise, Spain or Latin Americ...

you let me violate you
you let me desecrate you
you let me penetrate you
you let me complicate you

help me, I broke apart my insides
help me, I’ve got no soul to sell
help me, the only thing that works for me
help me, get away from myself

I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal
my whole existence is flawed
you get me closer to god

you can have my isolation
you can have the hate that it brings
you can have my absence of faith
you can have my everything

help me, tear down my reason
help me, it's your sex I can smell
help me, you make me perfect
help me, become somebody else

I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal
my whole existence is flawed
you get me closer to god

through every forest, above the trees
within my stomach, scraped off my knees
I drink the honey inside your hive
you are the reason I stay alive

I Wanna Know

It's amazing how you knock me off my feet, hmm
Everytime you come around me I get weak, oh yeah
Nobody ever made me feel this way, oh
You kiss my lips and then you take my breath away
So I wanna know

I wanna know what turns you on
So I can be all that and more
I'd like to know what makes you cry
So I can be the one who always makes you smile

Girl he never understood what you were worth, hmm no
And he never took the time to make it work
(You deserve more loving, girl)
Baby I'm the kind of man who shows concern, yes I do, oh
Anyway that I can please you let me learn
So I wanna know

Tell me what I gotta do to please you
Baby anything you say I'll do
Cause I only wanna make you happy
From the bottom of my heart, it's true

I wish that I could take a journey through your mind, alright
And find emotions that you always try to hide babe, oh
I do believe that there's a love you wanna share, oh, oh
I'll take good care of you lady, have no fear, oh
So I wanna know

I wanna know what turns you on
So I can be all that...

Let the dirty politics begin.

National Party Officially a Pack of Liars
You may have seen National's snappy new billboards up around town. You know, the ones contrasting the policies of Labour and National in a snappy, simplified and easy to understand ad. That the campaign has gone ahead at all has come as a surprise, given that the National Party is hardly known for its humour or verve. With this latest ad, however, the campaign has taken a nasty turn. For a start, it's factually incorrect: Labour has not given iwi ownership over the beaches. Surely National can't have forgotten the 20,000 Maori who marched on Parliament, the defection of Tariana Turia from the Labour Party and the establishment of the Maori Party? These momentus events happened precisely because Labour denied Maori their legal right to pursue their claims through the court system.

Which brings us to the other side of the billboard: National's claim that the beaches should be "Kiwi". Apart from the covertly racist 'us and them' mentality that this creates, National's ...

I'm becoming less to find
As days go by
Fading away
Well you might say
I'm loosing focus
Kind adrifting into the abstract in terms of how I see myself

Sometimes I think I can see right through myself

Less concerned about fitting into the world
Your world that is
Because it doesn't really matter
None of this really matters anymore

Yes I'm alone but then again I always was
As far back as I can tell
I think maybe it's because you never were really real to begin with
I just made you up to hurt myself

And it worked.
Yes it did!

There is no you
There is only me
There is no you
There is only me
There is no fucking you
There is only me
There is no fucking you
There is only me

Only

The tiniest little dot caught my eye
and it turned out to be scab and I had this funny feeling
Like I just knew it was something bad
I just couldn't leave it alone, picking at that scab
Was a doorway trying to seal itself shut
But I climbed through

Now I am somewhere I am not supposed to be,
and I can see things I knew I really s...
