Last Day

Well, it's my last day working at ENZ. I'm sad, yet excited to be moving into the wider ANZ National group and learning new stuffs. This was my first proper job and I'm suprised that I managed to stay in the same place for two years! It's 7:59 am and already three people have cleverly pointed out to me that "it's your last day!" lol.Just got this e-mail sent to the rest of the team (from my team leader, Wendy):Hello EveryoneIt is Alicia's last day, she will be finishing at 4 pm today (she can not wait to get out of here! joking!). I truly mean it when I say it is going to be sad to see Alicia leave. Even though she has only been in Operations since September last year, from day one she has been a top performer. Alicia work quality is at a high level, with very few errors, process with in timeframes and ensures what work she passes onto the next team is correct.Alicia, though I have only been your team leader for a short time, you have been a fantastic person to work with. You are very reliable, resp...

Announcement

Now that we've informed family members/friends I thought it fitting to inform the rest of journal land.

and I will be exchanging vows in a wedding ceremony on 20.09.2009!

Cool huh?

Well, I thought so.

It's going to be quite the matrimonial year with bridesmaid duty in January too. The ceremony and reception will be held at Makoura Lodge in the Manawatu region. It makes things much easier for all the Palmyites coming along.

The next two years are going to be crazy nuts with finishing study, working full time, planning a wedding, planning to move to the UK, then planning an OE when we get to London. I'd also like to fit the London marathon in there somewhere too.

Hopefully it all runs smoothly ;D

My loverly sister Melissa, has asked me to be one of the bridesmaids at her wedding next January.

The bridesmaids dresses are seriously hot. As will be the bridesmaids wearing them ;). I think it's time to start working out a little more ;D.

Lamenting

Well, sort of. With my new job, they're desperate to get me in there so will need me to start on May 5th. Which is actually, the same night as the Foo Fighters concert. So I won't be going after all! I could put the guilt trip on them and say I've had this planned for like ever but I really can't be assed with the hassle - and I would like to give them a good first impression of me on the job. I was hardout looking forward to roadtripping it with and , but I bet there'll be other opportunities.

Besides, and I were talking last night and decided we'll be heading over to the UK next year to live. My older sis will still be there for a couple more years and we'd basically need to have someone over there to stay with for a while, otherwise it'll be impossible to settle in London. It's not the cheapest place to go either - we'll be saving $20K over the next year just to get there. has decided to finish his BSc in Maths and I'll be finishing up this year. That's really the only way we'll have enough p...

took this pic on his phone of Joe Dukie, lead vocal artist of Fat Freddy's Drop. We managed to hear about their low key appearance at Bar Bodega tonight through a friend, and it fucking went OFF. I was all like, "Is this guy for real?". I was seriously weak at the knees at the sound of his voice. After numerous rounds of cocksucking cowboys, our crew crashed Good Luck Bar and busted some hot moves. I actually felt my heart palpitating. That's what getting old does to your dance floor ability. Man. And, my older sis got totally boozed, so it was off to J&M's to indulge in the fattiest chicken in all of Wellington (probably in all of New Zealand). She then decided it was bed time so and I kindly lifted her to the safety of our apartment... which is all of a few steps away from the action. We're grateful for that. Dani will be partying for the rest of the night. Such a youngin'.

Overall, it's been ...

Smooth Moves

Despite lasting an 8 hour work day on only two hours sleep, I managed to run 7km today around the bays (and up the hills!) of Wellington, on my lunch break. Now that I'm all showered and cooled down, I could totally do it again. Oh yeah, I've taken up running and boycotted my gym, 'cos they're seriously incompetent ;D.

I'm excited about the weekend, I'm thrilled at the prospect of being able to sleep once I get home.

Oh, and I need to get tickets for Homegrown... is anyone else going? It'll be far too good to miss.

Greetings from my new laptop! I'm oh-so-glad to finally have one of these things. It took me at least an hour to connect to the internet 'cos I couldn't remember the freaking username or password and had to enter the modem admin to find it. First thing's first, I installed Firefox (the new version of IE is even MORE annoying), and here I am! Jevon's journals took my lappy's Internet flower! It's so shiny and pretty and I haven't slept yet because I've been busy playing around :). My current Windows settings are a blur between Vista and classic styles 'cos I do prefer the simplicity of the older menus 'n things. There's nothing wrong with being a simple girl . My lappy also has a cute little remote and a fingerprint reader for when I log on to Windows.

I've managed to wake up a few times in the midst of my confugurations, so I might be nice and finally get to sleep...

or I could be a big meanie watch the Little Britain Live DVD on my new lappy :naughty:

Christmas

I'm just curious to know - where/what will you be doing this Christmas?

On Christmas eve, I'll be working the standard 8 hour day, then taking the train to Palmy in the evening to spend Christmas day with 's family. Most of my family won't actually be in the same country, so that counts out any chance of spending time with them together :screwed:. My older brother lives in Palmy too, so I'll cruise along to his place and give gifts to my nephews, Stephen (6) and Jordan (5). and I will be getting a ride back to Wellington on Boxing day, where we'll be back at work the next day. Fun fun.

I can't believe this year is almost over, where the heck did it all go?!

That number suddenly makes me feel quite old. For my birthday I decided to just chill out and do the Wellington thing. and I tested out our new Camelbaks and took a hike up Mount Victoria. With the sun blazing and a slight breeze in the air, there was no better day for it. We decided to dust off the 'ol digicam to document our little adventure :P

Downhearted

I'm at home feeling rather miserable today. I don't want to know how many sick days I've had this year *sigh*. The operation I had about a month ago to remove a tumour doesn't seem to have hindered the pain I get, in fact - it seems to have elevated it. I sobbed to my boss this morning on the phone telling her I wanted to come in and work, and that I was almost out the door, until I get these terrible surging pains that stop me in my footing. So now here I am, sitting in front of my computer (the only place that seems natural, these days) writing a journal entry about it. I feel so useless at home, I don't feel I can do anything productive - especially in the cold. Hopefully the pain has gone away by the afternoon because I really need to go the gym. I had a particular goal in mind for this weekend, but won't likely reach it, due to current physiological condition.
