Cinco De mayo on Cherokee Street.

Yo this was a VERY BAD idea.

Look I'm not against Hispanics celebrating their culture.
I just think it would have been more appropriate to have the celebration at Benton Park.
1) It's bigger and MUCH prettier.
2) Traffic and business would not have been obstructed as much.

Saturday May 3
All I wanted to was go shopping.
Unfortunately Salvation Army was blocked off.
The security guards wouldn't let my mom and me through cuz we had cat food in our bags. Yeah I know they're just doing their jobs.

If you guys won't hold the party elsewhere, could you at least let the REGULAR AND LOYAL customers go do their business without the fuss and hassle?
That's just NOT FAIR to us!!!

Yukata and Obi NO NOT Obi wan Kenobi!
Wednesday 16 April 2008 - 3.49am
Hey it me again!
I finally got around to makeing an obi for my yukata. It's a Hanhaba type obi. This type of obi is smaller and softer compaired to the other obi that are made for more formal Kimono.

Wanna see? Heh he sorry the image quality sucks. I had to use the self timer thingy. Plus I was kinda tired when I took the pics.

Here's the front.

Ok now here's the back. I tied it in the Butterfly/Bow style.

Here's to You........
Saturday 29 December 2007 - 5.00pm
Dad, I miss you alot.
Bert, I know you're up there hanging out with Dad.
Mike, I hope you're proud of Diane and the others.
Chris, I'm still pissed that justice won't be served. But take comfort, in 2 more years thier names *might* be released to the public. Public humiliation type of punishment is a real "you know what"! Twisted At least you're with your dad now.

Hey if you want to find out more about Japanese stuff in anime/ manga then I highly recomend these books:

The Anime Companion- What’s Japanese In Japanese Animation BY Gilles Poitras.

The Anime Companion- What’s Japanese In Japanese Animation Vol 2 BY Gilles Poitras.

I have vol 1 and I find it very easy to understand. It’s kinda set up like a student’s text book. If you can’t buy the books don’t worry, the author has a web site.

Part 2
Sunday 26 August 2007 - 7.56pm
Today I went back to the festival.
Mom and I got back just in time to see a traditional Chinese lion dance. After that Vietnamese students did some wonderful martial arts demonstrations. This was a real treat for me since I'm a big fan of fighting anime and manga, like Street Fighter, Ranma 1/2, and Yu Yu Hakusho. I'm also a Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan fan. I also saw some great Irish clog dancing. Think "River Dance". The Belly dancing was great too.

Mom and I also ran into a couple of people from work. We decided to eat some Chinese food. We tried the Orange chicken. It was really tasty! Smile

I got some oriental style jewelery, a hand made Chinese zodiac symbol ( One that you can hang. I'm a Sheep BTW.) I also went back to the same vendor that I bought my parasol from. This time I got a light green one and I asked them to paint my name in Chinese on it. The nice lady also stamped some "Good Luck" symbols on it.

Culture In St. Louis Is.........
Saturday 25 August 2007 - 9.00pm
......... totally fab!!

This weekend we are having a "Festival Of Nations". There's food, music, art and dance... and shopping too! Best of all it's in Towergrove Park! That's right in my neck of the woods. Smile When I got off work today I stopped by to check it out. It was amazing! I stopped by some of the vendors and got some cool stuff. I got a lovely lavander Chinese parasol, a yellow Chinese silk brocade bag and a cute bracelet.

There was this very sweet and pretty older Chinese lady who had an outfit that just rocked! It was perfect for the ocasion. She had beautiful long black hair that you could just die for. Her braid went past her butt. She wore a purple Chinese tunic with black trim and black slacks. She also wore a traditional straw hat. I just had to stop her and complement her. A lot of folks where wearing great traditional costumes.

I will be going back tommorrow and I'll be taking my mom. I can almost taste the food!

I'm back! MY FEELINGS ON DRIVER'S ED.
Thursday 23 August 2007 - 1.00pm
Wow I've haven't been on in ages!
I might be doing some changes to this blog. We'll see. LOLs My B Day is in a few weeks! YES!
Another note. I just got a letter from Chris' mom a few days ago. I'm still a little mad at her for not telling me herself but I've decided to forgive her and let it go.

I think to there should be some kind of Psycology test added to Driver's Ed. You know to see if the person is mentally mature and stable enough to have a licence. If they can not pass the test then they will and should not be allowed to have a drivers licence of ANY kind in the US. They will have to stick with public transportation or ask a relative/friend for a ride.

I hope those kids get thier licences revoked FOR LIFE!
There should also be a rule for people who where not born in the US and who do not  speak Enlgish.
They should not be allowed to have a translator during the written exam.

REASON: ALL OF  OUR TRAFFIC SIGNS ARE IN ENGLISH!  They can't  have a translator in the car with them all the time ya know!
Besides it's CHEATING  to have somebody help you take any kind of test!
They must take English Language lessons BEFORE they take Driver's Ed. They also must provide some type of "proof" that they have taken lessons.
