OMG!
I'm totally freaking out right now. I got an awesome 70% on a test that I was only expecting maybe 50% for! That means that all my hard work is gonna get me a good grade rather than an average grade. I kept thinking that there was so much more that I needed to add to my answers, but obviously I did ok.

*jumping for joy*

Then on the other hand we have Alex's delightful mother and sister here, and I'm now already feeling totally drained from them visiting. Never in my life have I dealt with people that shout and argue as much as them. They have thankfully gone out for the afternoon so I have some peace and quiet for a change. It doesn't help that they arrived while I'm in the middle of "that time of the month" so yeah, doesn't really make me a happy camper.

Another happy moment was when mummy dear called me last night. I just love talking to her. When I asked Alex if mum can stay with us for a week when I graduate in November, he said "yay, two Tracy's" LOL Yeah we are kinda alike, at least in personality. Having mummy visit me is gonna be awesome! She is well-overdue for a proper break from her work and such. *sends hugs to mum*

Birthday
As all you lovely people who are my friends you'll already know that my birthday is coming up again. (Doesn't feel like a year since the last one lol)

Ok so I'm thinking of going back to Yatai for my birthday again. Miss Krissi suggested doing this on the 30th May. What do all you lot think? Anyone who is in Palmy or can make it to Palmy is invited to come, just let me know sometime in the next two weeks.

If that's a bad date, give me some suggestions as to when a better time to do it is. I apologise in advance for my terrible social life (trying to graduate is hard to do) and terrible planning skills.

Oh and if anyone has any bright ideas about something else I should do, then please tell me!

My Hearing
Just been thinking a lot about Heather's comment on her journal about my hearing issues. I marvel at how people can have more than one conversation going at once, at how they don't have to put all their effort into trying to work out what people are saying. It's funny sometimes cos someone can say something, and my brain won't have deciphered it yet, so it's like I haven't heard them, so I'll ask them to repeat themselves and once they begin talking, I'll be like "oh wait, sorry I've got it now" lol. Seriously, I feel like I have to decode everything verbal as if it's some kind of code or something.

Apparently I was born deaf, and had no hearing up until 9 months of age. It's a scary thought to think I could have remained deaf all my life. For this, I am grateful that I have the hearing that I do have. I can't take it for granted.

When I was 5, I told my teacher one day that she couldn't teach me anything til my step-mum came into the school to bring me my hearing aid cos I had forgotten it that day. You see, I was trying to make the most of my education, even then. lol.

I try not to let my hearing aid define me. It doesn't hold me back in what I can do. Although I do know that my balance is seriously screwed lol. So despite being a short-ass, I firmly wear flat shoes.

I believe everything happens for a reason. I believe that I was granted the issues I have in life to help me appreciate more of what's around me. I learnt that more than one thing makes a person who they are. I learnt to see the best in myself, and the best in those around me. And for all my troubles, I'm a great listener lol.

Opposite
Talk about a bipolar weekend. Today was the opposite of yesterday. I barely got anything accomplished, and I feel like crap.

I want to talk to someone, but I don't have anyone to talk to. *sigh*

My Day of Rest
It's scary to think how much I accomplished today.
I started out the day lazy by sleeping in til about 9:30am *total bliss* Then I got up and made my breakfast, and climbed back into bed with my laptop and lazed about for an hour or so. After Mr Alex finally woke up, I decided it was time to start the day so I showered and got ready for the day. After that I put on a load of washing, did the dishes, tidied my room, sorted out some of my uni stuff, hung out washing, put on a second load, stripped and remade the bed with clean sheets, vacuumed half the house (my room, the back hallway, and the kitchen), hung out second load of washing, got organised and headed into town with Alex (was only about 1pm by this stage).

We had an awesome day out. The weather couldn't have been more perfect today. We headed over to Alex's old work so he could return his uniform and store cards and such. We hung around there for ages cos we were busy talking to all Alex's workmates and then we got some stationery stuff while we were there and they were having a sale. Oh and I was so tempted to buy a new laptop that they were trying to get rid of for $500, but I just don't have the money for that kind of thing at the moment. By this time, both of us were starving, so we were naughty and went and had fast food for lunch (given the amount of walking we did, I think we justified eating it). We then walked around town, going into various shops and buying stuff that we wanted/needed. Oh and we stopped at muffin break and got a piece of cake each and shared a hot chocolate. We got home about 7pm, then we watched a movie that Alex bought today and now it's 9:30 and I'm surprisingly not as tired as I think I should be. Also, I'm very surprised that my feet don't hurt all that much. Not that I'm complaining.

I know I didn't do any study today, but I think I deserved a day off to relax and just renew my brain cells.
