Studylink...again

Yesterday I got a message to state whether I wanted to go back or not. I have said that I'm interested and will probably end up there again. Because we have been trained in the basics, we will get trained in other components, so it won't be boring for us. I also told a friend of mine because she is also looking for work still (yay I'm not the only one lol). The earliest intake is 7th September, so it's not too far away. This hasn't stopped me from job hunting though.
From there I'm contemplating further study of some description. There's a Post-graduate Diploma in Forensic Science which I can apply to do. They only accept 10 applicants per year so it may not actually happen. I'm going to research this and apply in July once I get back from Auckland. Right now I'm planning and organising things for our trip to Auckland for my brother Brett's wedding. I know we're not going for long but it still requires time and effort, plus I have my ongoing job search. If I do get into this programme, I will be heading up to Auckland next year as that's the only place in NZ you can do it.
So those are my plans for the next year or so. I won't have to add to my student loan as I will be eligible for a student allowance which will make life way easier. Plus it would be awesome to live with my mum for a year! I think it would be good for her too. We had a fantastic time when I stayed with her for 3 months over a summer once. I feel so good about having some sort of plan, especially one that involves getting off the benefit. It's so easy to fall into the trap of depression.

Surprise!

Alex's lovely mother stopped by for an impromptu visit last night. She was driving home after dropping Alex's sister home and realised it was getting dark really early (you would have thought she would have realised this earlier in the year lol) and decided to stay here the night as she hates driving in the dark. So as you can imagine last night was full of listening to her natter on and on and on...
Luckily she left just after 10am this morning. But not before making a few snide remarks about a few things. I'm glad she's gone again.

Birthday Entry

I had a nice day yesterday. Alex woke me up early so he could make me a cuppa and give me his present before he went to work. I got lots of kisses and cuddles and he even made his own breakfast! I wasn't hungry or I'm sure he would have made me something too. I went out for a meeting in the morning then spent the rest of the day at home. We went out to dinner at 7pm. Dinner was good, I had morroccan chicken pasta and Alex had venison with veges. The service was really good until the end when we paid and they didn't even say "goodbye" or anything. When we got home, I had a chat with my stepmum, dad and sister, then Alex and I watched a movie.
So far I've only received presents from Alex and my stepmum. My mum sent my card late so I'll probably be getting that in the next day or so. Oh and my brother Brett REMEMBERED my birthday this year. OMG!!!!! He hasn't remembered since I was maybe 15? It was a nice surprise.
